On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Amrita Vidyalayam Mangalore, held a heart-warming ‘Sanskriti Pooja’, a divine practice where students honor their first Gurus, their parents. This ritual, unique to the school, symbolizes reverence and gratitude for the immense love, sacrifices, and guidance provided by parents. Through this pooja, students expressed deep appreciation for the invaluable support they receive from their families.

The event commenced with an enlightening discourse by Sampoojya Swamini Mangalamrta Prana, setting a spiritual tone for the day. Swamini Amma emphasized that we have forgotten our cultural values and need to awaken gradually to reincorporate traditional values into our lives. stressed that rituals like Sanskriti Pooja and other Sanathan practices are integral to a fulfilling life and urged that one must take time for their children to participate in such rituals as it leaves a legacy behind. Citing a recent big fat wedding as an example, Swamini Amma said, the wedding showcased not only financial strength but also the depth of Sanathan values and culturally significant rituals and the strength of Indian traditions in life.

The students then performed a mesmerizing Nritya Sankeertan and various chantings, enriching the atmosphere with devotion.

Following these performances, AMMA’s Paduka Pooja was performed by the Principal, Mrs. Akshatha Shenoy, accompanied by melodious bhajans from team AYUDH, the youth wing of the institution. Several parents took to the stage to share their heartfelt views on the rich values imparted to their children through the school and expressed pride in this unique practice of worshipping parents, which is exclusively organized at Amrita Vidyalayam, Mangalore.

Dr. Deviprasad, the Chief Guest, shared his insightful words and expressed his overwhelming emotions towards the Sanskriti Pooja, commending the school’s dedication to upholding such meaningful traditions.

The entire program was conducted under the guidance of Campus Director, Mr. Yathish Baikampady, with active participation from both teaching and non-teaching staff, making it a truly divine and memorable event.
